Our sleek, black ABS enclosures (model CBEAC-04-BK) was selected for use at CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, nestled in the serene landscapes of Switzerland.

For those unacquainted, CERN is the cradle of cutting-edge particle physics, home to the famed Large Hadron Collider (LHC)—the planet’s most formidable particle accelerator. Within its subterranean chambers, scientists propel subatomic particles at velocities approaching the speed of light, orchestrating collisions that unravel mysteries of the universe’s very fabric. A remarkable endeavour, is it not? In 2012, CERN’s relentless pursuit of knowledge bore historic fruit with the discovery of the Higgs Boson, a pivotal breakthrough that cemented our understanding of fundamental cosmic forces.

Our Head of Marketing, Charlie Box, recently had the privilege of collaborating with CERN’s Accelerator Systems Department to uncover how our enclosures contribute to their pioneering work. Through this enlightening dialogue, it emerged that the CamdenBoss enclosure serves as an integral component within a sophisticated test board. This apparatus is designed to enhance the precision of data collection when monitoring flowmeters—critical instruments within the accelerator’s intricate infrastructure. Should a malfunction occur, the system ensures swift, accurate diagnostics, empowering scientists to maintain the collider’s flawless operation. Following a meticulous testing phase, this innovative solution is poised for full integration into the LHC’s systems.
